MICHAEL A. COHN became a shareholder of the firm in January, 1999. Mr. Cohn graduated from Rutgers College in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Theater. He was a successful businessman for nearly 13 years before entering law school at Nova University in 1988, where he was on Law Review and Moot Court and graduated in 1991, summa cum laude. Mr. Cohn is also certified as a Circuit Civil Mediator. His business experience coupled with his litigation experience gives Mr. Cohn a unique perspective, which has proven extremely valuable in the mediation process.
MICHAEL A. CURRY served in the United States Marine Corps and worked as a business analyst before earning his undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida. After university, Mr. Curry lived overseas teaching English in the Republic of Korea and backpacking through Central Europe. Upon returning to the States, Mr. Curry earned his law degree from the University of Florida College of Law and was a member of the Florida Law Review and the Journal of Law and Public Policy. He subsequently joined Awerbach & Cohn, P.A. and has focused his practice in real estate and title insurance litigation.
JUSTIN B. DAVIS graduated from Florida State University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Marketing. Mr. Davis worked for his family's business prior to entering law school at Stetson University, College of Law in 2005, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 2007. While at Stetson, Mr. Davis served as a Research Assistant for the Dean of the College of Law and as President of the Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law Society (EASL). Additionally, Mr. Davis performed his in-house counsel legal internship under the General Manager of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
JACQUELINE F. KUYK graduated from Armstrong Atlantic State University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Ms. Kuyk worked extensively in the legal field prior to earning her Juris Doctor at Stetson University College of Law. During law school, Ms. Kuyk performed an in-house legal internship with an intellectual property research firm, and worked as the firm’s General Counsel and Director of Business Development upon being admitted to the Bar. Additionally, Ms. Kuyk has extensive experience prosecuting thousands of foreclosure actions on behalf of institutional lenders, prior to joining Awerbach & Cohn, P.A. in 2010.
