MARTIN S. AWERBACH
is Board Certified as a Real Estate Lawyer by The Florida Bar. He has an extensive background in real property law and is particularly knowledgeable and experienced in the law of real estate titles and title insurance. Unlike most Board Certified real estate lawyers, Mr. Awerbach primarily practices real estate and commercial litigation. He is often retained as a consultant, and has testified in both the state and federal courts as an expert on real estate, real property title law, and title insurance law.
MICHAEL A. COHN
became a shareholder of the firm in January, 1999. Mr. Cohn was a successful businessman for nearly 13 years before entering law school. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Cohn worked for a large state-wide firm as a commercial litigator. He handled all types of commercial litigation, and began to develop a real estate litigation background. Mr. Cohn is certified as a Circuit Civil Mediator. His business experience coupled with his litigation experience gives Mr. Cohn a unique perspective, which has proven extremely valuable in the mediation process.
JACQUELINE F. PEREZ
graduated from Armstrong Atlantic State University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Ms. Perez worked extensively in the legal field prior to earning her Juris Doctor at Stetson University College of Law. During law school, Ms. Perez performed an in-house legal internship with an intellectual property research firm, and worked as the firm’s General Counsel and Director of Business Development upon being admitted to the Bar. Additionally, Ms. Perez has extensive experience prosecuting thousands of foreclosure actions on behalf of institutional lenders, prior to joining Awerbach | Cohn in 2010.
